K9 Search & Rescue Assessment and Coaching

Purpose:  To assist handlers become better canine teachers and trainers while helping canine handlers master handling skills and strategy.

Each program includes an existing canine/handler assessment along with one or more of the following areas of emphasis:

• Canine Learning Methods
• How to Build A Reward System In Your Dog
• How to Apply Basic Scent Theory
• How to Apply Area Search Tactics
• Basic Area Search Strategy
• Basic Trailing Skills
• How to Start A Trail
• How to Handle a Lead for a Trailing Dog
• Application of Handler Skills
• How to Read Canine Behavior
• Setting Up An Effective Training Regimen
• Cross Training Your Canine

Program can be structured as purely consultative and be customized to the needs of a group of handlers based on an assessment, or there is a one day basics program for starting handlers.

Fee:  $280.00 per day for up to eight hours of consultative or instructional time, and travel expenses.
