K9 Placements Temperament Testing

This evaluation is based on the dog's inherent ability and are not 'trained' behaviors. We test dogs on the following criteria:

• Retrieve/Prey drive (will the dog watch and retrieve a thrown toy, even after a delay)
• Search drive (will the dog naturally use its nose to sniff for a hidden toy)
• Toy drive (will the dog play with practically anything, even play tug and want to possess the toy)
• Agility/Nerve strength (will the dog climb over unsteady surfaces to retrieve their toy)
• Social (does the dog like people)

Dogs that are tested have a varying degree of drive and for us to make a good match it is incredibly important for us to know what you like out of your K9 partner.

Our dogs, if not placed into a SAR home, may also go into drug detection. If you think you might have a dog that would work, please look at our basic temperament evaluation. If your dog meets the requirements, then contact us.
